September Newsletter

Decorative Wave

Welcome to an exciting new year at Arbor View Montessori School. A special welcome to all the new students and their families that are joining us! We are very happy to have you with us.

During the month of September, the staff and I will be informally assisting new students and kindergartners in order to determine how we can encourage and assist each one in his or her individual learning process.

During this past summer Fine arts and Music Appreciation were the themes. In September, the theme of the month will be Physical Geography. Please feel free to email, call, or drop me a note with any questions or concerns that you might have. My door is always open. Also, If you have friends or family that need a preschool, we have a few spots open in the Infant, Toddler & Preschool Programs. We appreciate your referrals.

Calendary:

September 4th Labor Day (School Closed)

Curriculum:

Reading Readiness and Phonics: Currently the younger children are being exposed to a variety of reading readiness activities such as classification activities, opposites and metal insets. During circle time we are emphasizing a new phonetic sound each week and are playing games based around each letter. The pre-kindergarten and kindergarten age children are in the process of reviewing and being tested in the area of phonics in order to discover which sounds each child has mastered and has learned to blend and read. This will enable the staff to more accurately plan each child’s individual progress in reading and phonics.

September Song of the month:

The more we get together, together, together.
The more we get together the happier we’ll be.
For your friends are my friends
And my friends are your friends.
The more we get together the happier we’ll be.

Thank you for choosing Arbor View Montessori School for your children.
Here’s to a great and successful school year!
